Dear Board Members:

Thank you kindly for taking the time to review this variance application for 1117 and 1119 West River
Drive, Lot 20 and 21 as recorded in Hillsborough County Plat Book 52, page9.

This application is being submitted to respectfully request that the current Front and Rear Setbacks
may be reconsidered in light of the extreme limitations and hardships they pose upon the construction
of my personal home. The application requests the minimum variance adjustment necessary. It should
be noted that the 1117 West River Drive lot in unbuildable, as the buildable space would be negative if
the setbacks are applied. This leaves me with the opportunity to build only on the 1119 West River
Drive lot. We are requesting variance for the unbuildable lot as well, so we could put a fence leveled
with the front of the house as required by City of Tempe Terrace regulation. This will allow us to use
that space as a private side yard.

I also wanted to provide additional information of my situation: My parents and my brother’s family
have lived in Temple Terrace for over 20 years. My brother graduated from USF and my mother is a
professor of neurology at the Morsani College of Medicine at USF. I also lived in Temple Terrace for
many years. I graduated from the International Baccalaureate high school program at King High School
in the area and then obtained by bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida. My graduate
studies and work took me to other states. I received my MA Degree in Mental Health and Behavioral
Medicine from Boston University in Massachusetts followed by PhD Degree in Industrial and
Organizational Psychology from Bowling Green University in Ohio. My employment is with Aptima, Inc.
where I lead and support Department of Defense contracts in my role as a Team Lead and Senior
Scientist. I currently work from home and reside in Longwood, Florida. My partner Blake and I have a
daughter, Grace, who turned 2 years of age last November. We are expecting another child in March
2024.

My family and I want to come back again and live closer to my relatives, so that my children can
attend some of the best schools in the country here and grow in the beautiful Temple Terrace
surrounded by loved ones. I can also get and provide help and support in times of need.
